Easter Basket and Plushie Workshop: What can you expect from the activity?
*As this is an Easter themed activity, it won’t be available on all Haven breaks.
When you arrive at the Creation Station, a member of staff will be there to greet you, take your name etc., just to check they have the right people booked onto the activity. Once you are checked in, the child participating will be able to find a spare seat at the table, which will have already been set up beforehand.
Haven sites vary in size so places may be allocated in advance. On this occasion, Erin was told to find any spare seat where there was a x1 sticker. This ensures siblings and friends booked on the activity together can sit together.
The Creation Station at Caister-on-Sea is huge and I think there was about 24 children doing this activity at the time. However, it was well spread out and Erin had plenty of space.

Already laid out on the table was a bag of stuffing, empty plushie, activity sheet, stickers and an Easter basket. Everything you need for the activity is there before you start.
Erin made a start with the plushie’s stuffing, which was in a compact bag to start with. She had loads of fun fluffing it up and making it as big and as crazy as possible. It took over the table!
The stuffing is then put inside the plushie and children can decide here how much they want to put in. It’s a good idea to use it all though, to make sure the plushie isn’t empty in any areas.

Staff were great at this point and came around to help, also encouraging children to name their chicks and asked about our Easter plans. Casiter-on-Sea had 3 staff doing this activity, because of the amount of participants. They all made sure they walked around and talked to as many people as possible, making the session super friendly and relaxed.
The last thing to do was to decorate the basket. Erin had Easter themed stickers to put on where she wanted, ready to put her new plushie inside. Although the session was very simple, the time went quickly. There was more than enough time for all children to make their plushies and to decorate the baskets before the end.

The great thing about this activity is that it’s a really easy one so suitable for most ages. The space is set out for the children to sit down but here, there was plenty of space for parents to join in and sit to help if needed.
Erin really enjoyed this activity and loved having something quite substantial to take home with her.
