What is there at SEA LIFE Hunstanton?
One of the great things about SEA LIFE Hunstanton is that it isn’t huge. You can easily find your way around without a map, making your way through fish enclosures to the Penguin Beach and incredible rainforest experience. You are able to go back and forth as you like, and also start again from the beginning if you want (with proof of ticket purchase).
Different species of sea creatures
SEA LIFE Hunstanton is home a whole host of spectacular marine creatures and you’ll find them in a variety of enclosures during your visit. From the black tip reef sharks to tiny shrimps, there’s something to look at everywhere you go. While some fish are huge, there are also some tiny fish to discover. We love seeing the amazing different species of fish, and seeing how many different kinds we can see as we walk around.
Norfolk’s only seal sanctuary
SEA LIFE Hunstanton is home to a dedicated seal rescue hospital and it is the only one in Norfolk. This area can be found outside and has a few different things to explore. There have been over 750 seals rescued so far, including grey seals. In just the past 12 months over 50 have been resuced from Norfolk and surrounding areas. I love that not only can you see seals who have been rescued but those who are getting ready to be released again.
Otter River
After visiting the seals, you can see the incredible otter enclosure. Here, you’ll be able to see the playful otters as they run around and have fun. If they are not out playing, check in some of the tunnels or in the enclosed area where they might be sleeping!
Get hands on
The rock pools are a great way for both children and adults to get hands on during their visit. Staff can help you to touch starfish, sea anenomes and a crab! Although it took Erin a little while to do this, the staff were so good at encouraging her to be brave and she did do it in the end.
Ocean tunnel
You can’t miss the state of the art Ocean tunnel. Discover a memorable undersea odyssey, where you can see so many different species of fish as well as a giant green sea turtle and sharks. This is a unique opportunity to see the majestic sea turtles up close, while you complete the underwater walk. It does get quite busy in the tunnel so if you want to get a good photo, you might have to wait a few minutes while people walk further down.
How long should I plan to spend at SEA LIFE Hunstanton?
SEA LIFE Hunstanton isn’t huge but there is plenty to see. On our most recent visit we spent two hours here which I think is a good amount of time to plan for.
Other facilities
Just near the entrance to SEA LIFE Hunstanton you’ll find toilets and a cafe. The cafe serves a range of hot and cold drinks, snacks and sandwiches, with plenty of tables available. Don’t forget to visit the gift shop before you leave to pick up a souviner from your day.
SEA LIFE Hunstanton is such a fun day for the whole family and visitors of all ages. We all had favourites from our day, and things we wanted to go back to and see again. Erin asked to go back not long after our visit and that’s how you know it was a hit!
