The O'Hallorans

The OHallorans

We’re made up of Lyndsey, John and Erin, who all love a new adventure. We try to get away as much as possible, especially during school holidays and variety is a must for us. That means staying anywhere from a luxury hotel to a hostel and it’s not often we go to the same place twice.

Sometimes it can be hard to find somewhere indoors with a range of family-friendly activities. Mr Mulligans Norwich is a fantastic choice for families with plenty of fun things to do.

Food and drinks

Although we didn’t have the time to eat at Mr Mulligans, I was quick to check out the menu. There’s a great menu full of pizzas, hot dogs, nachos and chicken with vegetarian and vegan options too. It seemed like the perfect menu for a games night, or day!

Mr Mulligans Norwich is a cashless venue.

18-hole crazy golf

On our first visit to Mr Mulligans Norwich, we had booked to play the 18-hole crazy golf course. I had heard great things about this particular course and as a family, we have played quite a bit of golf!

Booking a session

Booking our game was really easy. The Mr Mulligans website is clear and you can find your way around easily. After choosing how many people will be playing and the date and time, you’ll see how much the session will cost. Payment does need to be completed at the time of booking when using the website.

Get ready to play!

After arriving and checking in at reception, we were able to pick a coloured golf ball each and shown where to get our clubs. To keep the game fair, there is a cap on how many shots you can take. This also helps to stop holes getting backed up when it’s busy.

Immediately, we were all excited for the game, as you can see the golf course as soon as you enter the building. Taking up the entire right hand side, it’s a large, colourful course!

Fairgrounds, TV sets and mazes

Mr Mulligans Norwich has the best crazy golf course I think I’ve ever been to. Each of the 18 holes are extremely different and you’ll look forward to seeing what is going to come next.

Saw themed golf hole at Mr Mulligans Norwich

The first hole is straight out of the Saw film, and was something we were not expecting. Although there is a horror theme to this one, it’s not particularly scary and Erin, who is 8, was absolutely fine with it. This is really the only hole you might have to worry about, especially if you’re playing with younger children.

Mr Mulligans 18-hole crazy golf has something to interest everyone. Some of the holes include the Friends Central Perk set, a skatepark, a jail and a fairground. Each hole has a different element which makes it harder, such as moving parts of hidden holes.

We played as a family of 4, with 3 adults and a child. Each of us enjoyed different aspects of the course, but we all loved the challenge. It was so much fun to try and figure out what we needed to do to win, and try something new on each hole.

How long does it take?

As a family of 4, we got around the 18-hole golf course in around an hour. At 10am on a Saturday morning, the venue wasn’t particularly busy and we were able to take our time on each hole. This included taking loads of pictures… because who wouldn’t want to do that!?

Would we go back?

Absolutely! In fact, we have been back already since our first visit. Mr Mulligans Norwich can be a fairly cheap family day out, depending on what you choose to play. I love that a lot of games are for 1 hour and for up to 6 people. This keeps the costs down and means you can try something new if you want.

The fact that Mr Mulligans is at Norwich Riverside means that there are lots of other options nearby too. The recent relocation of Bella Italia gives a great alternative for dinner, Odeon means you can see a film too, or, just plan an epic games night!
