Eating out during a Haven holiday can help towards making your break as relaxing and fun as possible. There are plenty of places to eat at Haven Cleethorpes Beach, from sit down meals to quick lunches of chicken or burgers!
*Opening times vary so check with the Haven site for up to date information
The Carousel Restaurant
We like to try the main restaurant at each Haven site we go to and at Cleethorpes Beach, it was called The Carousel Restaurant. The restaurant itself is fairly large with plenty of seating indoors as well as on an outside terrace. Although we had booked a table, it wasn’t necessary as there were always seats available. I was surprised to see this as we stayed during the summer holidays.
Be sure to check the Haven app for any offers that might be on during your stay. During the week we had a 2 meals for £18 offer (limited menu) and children eat for only £1. There also tends to be offers during breakfast and lunch and a Sunday roast.
We ordered our food at the bar although you can also do this via the app or there are staff walking around will iPads. The menu includes things like burgers, mixed grills, curry, vegan options, and lighter bites.
Although our food didn’t take too long to arrive, it wasn’t the best and we had to send some back. I ordered a burger with skin on fries, which arrived barely even warm. I asked for this to be changed for another meal instead as it didn’t look very appetising. This wasn’t a problem however, I then had to wait while my family ate their food. Other issues included missing items such as cucumber sticks for a children’s meal and mango chutney with a curry.
Luckily, most of the food we ordered was nice and my replacement meal was lovely. There are so many food outlets on this Haven park, and just down the road if you want to drive into Cleethorpes and the local area. I wouldn’t eat at this particular Haven restaurant again based on this experience. However, this is a good place to sit and enjoy a refreshing drink and use the free wi-fi.
Slim Chickens
Slim Chickens was a new one for us at Cleethorpes Beach. Obviously, this is a very chicken-based restaurant but there are some plant-based options available. It was nice to see a new restaurant/ takeaway on offer as it can get a bit boring eating from the same places each time we go on holiday to a Haven site. It wasn’t somewhere I had heard of before so I had no idea what to expect.
This is what we ordered:
- Kid’s tenders meal £5.95
- 4 tenders meal £11.45
- Slim’s Salad £11.95
As soon as our food came out, we were so impressed. Erin’s child’s meal came with 2 chicken tenders, fries, Texan toast, cucumber and carrots and a refillable drink. John’s salad was absolutely huge and such good value for somewhere like this and my chicken tenders meal was exactly what I expected.
Taste wise, we were all extremely happy. The chicken tenders themselves were fabulous, the fries had a nice coating and the Texan toast was amazing. There are 10 different dips to choose from as well to make your meal even better.
Slim Chickens can also be ordered via the Haven Serve app, either for collection or delivery to your caravan or table in the Marina Bar.
Papa Johns
Papa Johns is one of our favourites when it comes to staying on a Haven park. We tend to eat here at least once every time we’re on holiday with Haven. At Haven Cleethorpes Beach, you’ll find Papa Johns close to the Marina Bar and Adventure Village.
Prices are fairly reasonable considering you’re in a holiday park, and there are always offers available. We usually order 2 large pizzas with 2 sides and 4 drinks, which is generally on offer for around £40. The offers vary, and you can always order individually if you want to.
Papa Johns can also be ordered via the Haven Serve app, either for collection or delivery to your caravan or table in the Marina Bar.
Burger King
Need a quick dinner, or lunch on the weekend? Burger King is ideal, especially if you’ve got kids who like fast food. Serving the classics of burgers and chips, there’s enough for most people to choose from. Plant-based and vegan meals are also on the menu.
Burger King can also be ordered via the Haven Serve app, either for collection or delivery to your caravan or table in the Marina Bar.
Cook’s Fish & Chips
A chippy dinner is ideal when you’re on holiday and if you don’t fancy going too far, Cook’s is on site at Haven Cleethorpes. From previous visits to Cook’s I can say that the food is okay but I think overpriced, especially when you’re in Cleethorpes. You can find some prices below.
Cod – £8.79
Fishcake – £3.49
Cod bites (5) – £6.49
Regular chips – £3.79
Large cheesy chips – £5.99
Mushy peas – £1.00
In all honesty, I would rather go somewhere like Steels in Cleethorpes, where it’s much better value for money and the food is a lot better quality.
Cook’s Fish and Chips can also be ordered via the Haven Serve app, either for collection or delivery to your caravan or table in the Marina Bar.
Seaside Treats
Something I haven’t seen at a Haven park before is Seaside Treats, where you can get all sorts of delicious snacks. Here, you’ll find things like sugar doughnuts, ice cream sundaes, popcorn, waffles and waffle pops!
These are exactly the kinds of treats you want to indulge in when on holiday and it’s nice to not have to go to the main restaurant for them. Seaside Treats offers great value and somewhere you can enjoy a tasty treat, right in the middle of the new adventure village and in close proximity to the indoor pool. There’s something here for the whole family and loads of places to sit outside to enjoy your food.
