In May 2024, the Legoland Windsor resort added the new Woodland Village to their accommodation offerings. The Woodland Lodges are great for families, looking for something a bit different to the Legoland resort hotel or the Legoland castle hotel.
Accommodation options
The new Woodland Village offers 3 different kinds of accommodation; stylish camping barrels, standard woodland lodges and premium lodges. Each options varies in price and space available. Barrels are the cheapest and smallest option (no toilet or shower etc) while the premium lodges can sleep up to 7 people with a lounge and sofa bed.
Parking at the Legoland Woodland Village
Parking was included with the cost of our short break. If you’re staying in any of the Woodland Village accommodation, car park C is the best choice. This car park is just a minute or two away from the Clubhouse, meaning it’s a short walk to your lodge and not too far to drag any luggage. We liked that we could nip back to the car easily if we needed to, and we were able to pack up quickly on our last day.
Checking in
Check-in time at the Woodland Village, for standard lodges, is 4pm. You can check-in online a day or two before your stay, filling in any important information. We were able to arrive in the morning, park the car and spend the day in Legoland theme park.
You will receive a text message and email when your accommodation is ready. Ours was ready at about 3:30, but we were in no rush as we were off doing other things. When you are ready to check-in properly, you can scan a QR code on a machine in the Clubhouse, which will allow you to create your room keys. At this point you will need to pay a £5 refundable deposit. Staff were on hand to help with the check-in process and it was really easy to do. Around the check-in area you will find park maps, maps of the Woodland Village and details of any entertainment in the Clubhouse that evening.

Woodland themed zones
The woodland themed holiday village isn’t actually that big, and it only takes around 5-10 minutes to walk anywhere within the accommodation zone. When you check-in and find out your lodge number, you’ll also be given a zone which will help you remember where you are. These are things like rabbit, eagle, fox etc., which I thought was super cute. At the beginning of each zone there is a sign with the lodge numbers, and adorable Lego friends to match the animal names.
A cosy home for the night
As soon as we saw the lodges, we were so impressed. We could tell immediately that we were in for a tranquil family stay. Set in cul-de-sacs, the eagle area had 14 lodges, each in pairs of 2, surrounding a small play area in the middle. We were so excited to get in and explore our lodge!
Patio
Before we even entered the lodge we loved the fact that we had a private patio, complete with table and chairs. The space was a little snug, especially if 4 people wanted to sit arount the table, but we moved it slightly and made it work. The chairs are also super useful for propping the front door open. A small hook attached to the door would have been really helpful and I think a lot of people would make use of this to have the door open.
Bedroom and storage area
Inside, there’s a large bedroom with double bed, which also has loads of storage and a desk area with tea and coffee making facilities. On either side of the desk there’s a mix of shelves and hanging space, although these are short cupboards so long dresses won’t fit well. Nicely hidden inside some of the cupboards is a small fridge and a safe. The main room had lovely touches of the Lego woodland theme, especially with the large picture behind the bed.
As for the bed, it was incredibly comfortable. It was nice to have 4 very thick pillows already on the bed, as I can’t stand flat pillows. I adored the Lego woodland themed cover at the end of the bed and having both plug sockets and light switches next to me was really helpful.
Children’s bedroom
Separated by a curtain is the second bedroom, complete with bunk beds and a pull out bed underneath. This means this room can sleep 3 which is great if you have a larger family. The finishing touches in this room were especialy good and little rangers will be thrilled with their room. Not only does it have a projector, but there’s a TV playing Lego films on a loop and an area with brick-building activities.
Of course, I can’t forget to mention the safe with a code to be cracked! Erin loved finding different things around the lodge, making sure she got the code right to open the safe. The prize was a ranger activity book, comic, plushie, flag and pop badge!
Bathroom
The bathroom, also Lego themed, was idea for our overnight stay. The shower was plenty big enough and powerful enough, and we were provided with more than enough towels. There are Lego and woodland touches everywhere, which we really appreciated. Our favourites were the bees in bubbles and the acorn sticker which held down the edge of the toilet roll. These may only be small things but we noticed.
Although the woodland lodges don’t have air con, they do have windows that open and we had a couple of fans waiting for us when we arrived. Our visit was in the middle of August and we didn’t actually need the fan but we did open a window at night.
Breakfast in the Clubhouse
Included with our stay was breakfast in the on-site restaurant, the Clubhouse restaurant. You can book a time slot ahead of your stay and it does get busy so I advise doing this in advance. We ate at 7:45 and was seated straight away. The team members working were always around if you needed something or had a question.
Breakfasts consists of pastries such as pain au chocoate and croissants as well as cereal and fruit. You can help yourself to as many of these as you like. Drinks are also included with breakfast and you could choose from things such as orange and apple juice as well as tea and coffee.
You also choose from one hot dish as well. The choices are a full English breakfast or pancakes with bacon and berries. We had a mix between us so that we could see what each option was like. It took roughly 10 minutes for our food to arrive and we were all really impressed with it. Erin and I thoroughly enjoyed the pancakes and John was happy with his cooked breakfast. It really set us up for a full day of adventurous play in Legoland!
What is there to do in the Woodland Village?
Nature trails
Staying in this new accommodation means that you get access to a cool nature trail. Your junior Legoland ranger will recieve an activity book in the safe in their bedroom, which when completed will earn them an exclusive pop badge. The trail takes you around the local area, helping you to discover the resort’s woodland area. You will need to find a range of things as you walk around, such as certain animals and take rubbings of duck’s feet! The interactive activities are a great way to have some family fun during your stay.
The Clubhouse
As well as being home to the restaurant, the Clubhouse also has entertainment on an evening. You can find details of this in the reception area and plan your time accordingly. Entertainment includes meet and greets with some fun woodland characters and sing songs around the (Lego) camp fire.
I love that there’s something on for the younger children, although I’m not sure older children would be too bothered. We made the meet and greet quickly and got a photo but we had other plans for the evening. These kinds of entertainment facilities is ideal if you’re planning to have dinner in the Clubhouse, as it will help to keep the children happy and busy.
Play areas
Dotted around the woodland-themed holiday village are various play areas. The main play area, the Forest Friends Play Area can be found right outside of the Clubhouse. There’s a small trampoline, merry-go-round, and some big climbing equipment as well as a slide!
Each cul-de-sac also has their own small play area, making it the perfect place to play while you’re spending time at your lodge. Some play areas are slightly different to others but I liked that not all of them were different. The Legoland woodland village development has definitely put children and families first and they’ve done so much to make sure young children have the best time.
Would we go back?
One of the best ways to tell you how much we loved the Woodland Village and the Woodland Lodges is to say that we would definitely want to go back. I like that there’s options for budget stays in the barrels as well as more expensive options with the premium woodland lodge. Not only did we all have a good night’s sleep but the theming of the Legoland Woodland Village was perfect for families. This was a unique short break experience and a different way to enjoy the great outdoors. Our Legoland woodland escape helped us to make some tree-mendous memories and was a great first impression of Legoland.
