If you’re looking to book an all inclusive break at Potters Resort Hopton-on-Sea in Norfolk then you might be wondering what the accommodation is like. We’ve chosen Bungalow Plus three times now and love this option for us as a family.
Checking in
Check in time is officially at 3pm however, you can arrive on the resort from 12pm. At this time you can collect your welcome pack but your keys and all inclusive wristbands won’t be available until 3pm.
For an additional fee (£30 in 2026) you can pay for early check in, which means you get access to your accommodation from 1pm but the wristbands still kick in at 3pm.
What is included in the extra cost?
To stay in Bungalow Plus accommodation at Potters means paying a little bit more than the standard bungalows. There are a few things you get extra here, so it depends how much you want that. Basically, you get a small fridge and an iron and ironing board. I know that might not sound like a lot but we really like having a fridge in the room. You can take drinks back from the bar and we get some for overnight and ready for the morning. Obviously, if you’re visiting in summer, this could be really handy.
Choosing your location
You can pay an additional fee to choose your location on the resort. This is great if you’ve been before or have a preferred location. Although we didn’t pay extra this time, we have done in the past and found it helpful. For example, there’s a large field at the back of the resort or, there’s an area where there’s a small play park. Or, you might want to be within less walking distance of the main building.
Bungalow Plus
With the Bungalow Plus accommodation you can choose from either a double, twin or triple room, depending on how many people you are travelling with. Adjoining rooms are also available in certain areas of the resort. We have used these before when travelling as a family of 4.
By upgrading slightly to Bungalow Plus, you get a room that’s more modern and has some upgrades compared to the standard Bungalow accommodation. The rooms are light, airy, spacious and have a lovely seaside decor inside.
The front door opens right into the main room of the accommodation, where the beds will usually be right in front of you. In a twin room each bed has a side table, lights above them (including an easy to reach switch) and plugs to the side. The beds both have two pillows each and are super comfortable!
What I love about staying here is that the room have quite a lot of space. There’s a dressing table with drawers and large mirror, separate seat with small table and another seat near the wardrobe and tea and coffee making facilities. Although we don’t ever end up spending too much time in the room, it’s nice that you don’t just have to spend the time sitting on the bed.
With regards to storage, there’s loads! Not only do you have the side tables near the beds but drawers in the dressing table and a spacious wardrobe. I was able to hang all of my dresses and most of Erin’s dresses and tops as well. I do overpack though so probably have more clothes than most might take. I think the only thing we struggled a little bit with was where to put the suitcase but I found a spot behind a chair for it in the end.
The en-suite bathroom is great and really well suited for families. There’s a bath and a shower, which comes with a bath mat to help make things safer. Unlike some hotel bathrooms, this one has lots of space to put things. Although there isn’t cupboard storage, there is a large windowsill which has plenty of room for pretty much anything you could have brought with you. The shower is really powerful and can get very hot so be careful before you get in.
The only real negative we had was that the rooms are very warm in the summer. There is no air-con and if we had the windows open at night, we heard quite a bit of noise from people going back after the show etc.

For our short break stay, this comfy accommodation was perfect. Only a short walk to the beach, the location was chreat and we had everything we needed. The complimentary toiletries were a bonus, and we were close to the central facilities. Beds were super comfortable and we had a really lovely stay.
